Hi I'm Drew

I live in Texas, spent summers on the rodeo circut as a boy and am the father of 5 girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My early childhood memories consisted of the nomadic life of riding from one rodeo to another with my rodeo cowboy stepfather. My affection for rodeo gave way to other sports as I reached high school where life seemed to be measured from game to game and season to season. My love of athletics carried into college where I played football for a year before serving a mission in Korea. Like many 19 year olds, I was self absorbed and focused on myself and my future. Being on a mission reoriented me to serve others and broadened my perspective. I also developed a deeper love and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I came to love reading the scriptures and the love of reading eventually translated into a love of learning. That love of learning served me well as I returned from Korea and finished my undergraduate studies followed by an MBA. I have been blessed to be the father of five girls and to be married to my best friend for almost 20 years.

Why I am a Mormon

One of my favorite scriptures says “Consider the blessed and happy state of those who keep the commandments.” As one who analyzes companies all day, trying to understand what causes what, I also think a lot personally about what causes happiness. I’ve lived over 10,000 days and observed the lives of a lot of family and friends. In aggregate, it is a lot of data. One relationship is unmistakably clear in all the data: living the commandments of God leads to happiness. Being a Mormon helps me live the commandments better, and consequently, brings me happiness.

How I live my faith

Never as well as I would like but I keep trying a little harder to be a little better.
