Hi I'm Brayden Santo

I'm a Mormon. I'm also a husband, student, hardworking employee and nerd.

About Me

Before I served an LDS mission, I was a computer techie and jazz saxophone player. After my mission, I'm a changed human being. I've experienced a small taste of the love Heavenly Father has for all His children. I enjoy spending time with my family, my wife, my friends, my saxophone, and my computer. I'm focusing on improving myself in order to make the world a better place. I have weaknesses, but I know that with the Lord's help, they will one day become strengths. Planning and focusing on my highest-value activites has helped me see the importance of priorities. Just like the Lord has a plan, and focuses on His highest-value activities, I try each and every day to maximize every minute. Life is to be enjoyed fully!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be. True, I was born into the church, but after having learned for myself that this gospel is true, that it is the true Church of Christ, I will stay. No matter how hard it gets.   I've found greater happiness following the teachings of Jesus as found in His Restored Gospel than in any other thing. At times, I've partaken of His Atonement, and it's my continual desire to partake of that Atonement whenever I need to. Christ sacrificed His life so that I can be happy, and one day return to live with Heavenly Father. But only those who have faith, repent, are baptized by proper authority, and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost can fully partake of those blessings.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in the decisions I make daily. I try to follow the teachings of Jesus, in order to find a more happy lifestyle. I try to be a good neighbor, and help other people. In the past, I've volunteered over 2 years of my life to full-time service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Brayden Santo
Missions are primarily funded by the missionaries themselves. In many cases, family, friends, ward and branch members also donate to help missionaries serve and deliver the Gospel Truth around the world. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Brayden Santo
Nope! However, all young men who hold the Priesthood have a duty to serve a mission. It is expected from them.  Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Brayden Santo
Certainly not! We do, however, respect him as a great and mighty prophet. Joseph Smith was an instrument the Lord used to help bless all of us, just as He had used other men (such as Adam, Noah, and Moses) to bless His children in other times and ages. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Brayden Santo
We have had the Bible! And it's a miracle that it's been preserved for this long! The Restoration was needed because there was a falling away. Apostles prophesied that falling away in the Bible. When people distort or destroy true principles and ordinances, God takes His authority to perform those ordinances away. That is exactly what happened shortly after the death of Christ and the Apostles. Heavenly Father has once again reached out to us in love, by restoring that authority again on the earth. Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Brayden Santo
The Book of Mormon was written by many prophets. So was the Bible. Just like the Bible contains truth and revelation as given to those prophets, so does the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
