Hi I'm Tad

I'm a special education teacher and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Special education teacher. I served six years in the Navy, followed by two years as a Mormon missionary in Mexico. After that, I studied History, Social Science, and Spanish as an undergraduate in preparation to be a high school social studies teacher. Plans changed as my masters program involved training to be both a social studies and special education teacher. I met and married my wife five years ago. We had four miscarriages. Our fifth pregnancy is the lovely child seen in my picture. We moved to a rural area for my job as a high school special education teacher. I love to play guitar, listen to music, and do things to make my son laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into my religion, but I wasn't convinced until I was 19 years old. After a few weeks in boot camp, I had a sudden surge of faith. After attending a few Sunday services, I really felt strongly that if I had a strong desire to know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon, all I had to do was ask just as James promised in James 1:5. I did ask, and God answered my prayer in a very strong and personal way. I have been converted ever since.

How I live my faith

I attend three hours of church every Sunday. The first hour I spend listening to talks, while I work the second and third hour in the primary teaching six 4-year-old girls about Jesus and his gospel. One of the girls has some special needs.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Tad
Our church teaches that underwater baptism is required in order to live with God in Heaven. People who are baptized must be at least 8 years old in order to be able to choose between right or wrong. Those who are not baptized in life can accept a proxy baptism someone else being baptized for them, since a physical body must be underwater from someone who is living. Show more Show less
