Hi I'm Alex

I'm an HR guy. I'm a volunteer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning! I did a bachelor's degree, worked for a time, and decided to go back for more. Even though I'm no longer a formal student, I keep looking for ways to learn. I love learning new things, and helping other people learn new things as well. I look forward to opportunities to keep learning and teaching and helping. I have a great family with seven older brothers and twentyfour nieces and nephews. They're so great and my parents are amazing for raising us all to be...fairly normal people. I strongly believe in music - that it's awesome. I've been able to play the Euphonium for over half my life and love singing and experiencing all types of music. I want to counsel others in their search for how to live their life. I even get to do that as an HR professional as I help employees become the best they can be!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been taught the restored gospel all my life, but got to a point where I seriously considered why I did what I did. I soon found that I felt like Peter when Jesus Christ asked the twelve, "Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." Every question I've had has been answered by scripture or modern revelation. The Lord restored all knowledge through living prophets. I receive so much guidance from the Holy Spirit that I cannot go anywhere else. The "words of eternal life" are so available to me. The simplest way to put it is that I've seen people become happier and better because they lived the commandments and teachings of Jesus Christ (I'm on the top of that list).

How I live my faith

I used to answer this question by saying that my faith was a part of my life. Then I would say that it was a way of life. Now I know that it IS my life. My faith and hope in God and His plan direct every action I take. I wish I was better at following everything He says, but I'm glad He lets me keep trying. One of the ways I feel lucky enough to live my faith is with my family. We get to have great experiences now on earth and know that those will continue after this life. I also get great experiences with friends and others my age. I've been able to teach others my age and even the youth of the Church. I get to help organize lessons and activities and participate in them several times each week.
