Hi I'm Barbara Ann Pawson

I used to teach dance classes. Now I work for a web site. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three boys, my youngest is 23. I use lots of coupons and am very good at saving money with them. I love the fine arts- acting, dancing and singing. I taught many forms of dance for over 20 years and I specialized in tap. I also love science fiction and Doctor Who is my favorite show and has been for decades.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted because I wanted to be closer to God. I had no intention of converting, but I really enjoyed my talks with the missionaries. It was great. I could ask any kind of question I wanted. If I didn't agree with something they said, I could say so. They would then take the time to explain or show me why it was true. Then they would instruct me to pray about it. They never expected me to just believe it because they said so. They always sent me to pray to Heavenly Father about what I was learning and get my own confirmation. I continued to pray about these things and one by one, all my questions were answered. Some took longer than others but eventually I did receive confirmation from Heavenly Father. One thing I noticed was that I could see a difference in the Mormons I met. I could see that they had a closeness to God and a peace within them. I wanted that too. I wanted to be close to God. I always believed that if you want to be successful, look at successful people and then do what they do. So I started to investigate. It has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have a closeness with Heavenly Father now that I never could have imagined.

How I live my faith

I try to look at others with love and compassion. If someone needs help, I hope to be able to lend a hand or even just an empathetic ear. I strive to be an example of Christ's love to others as I follow the commandments. I go to church meetings each week. My calling was a visiting teaching coordinator. This means that I got to help with organizing visits for all the sisters in the ward. Then I was called as an activity days leader. I got to work with the 8-11 year old girls twice a month. I love to meet new people who come to church. I especially enjoy going with the missionaries to visit people who may have questions about the church. And that is why I absolutely love my new calling as a ward missionary. Having the full story of the gospel has made such a huge difference in my life, and now the lives of two of my boys, that I really love having the opportunity to share this with others. It gives me a chance to pay it forward. I love to attend baptisms so I try to go to every one I hear about.
