Hi I'm Eric

I enjoy gadgets, movies, and travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with three sons, born 2002, 2007, and 2010. My wife and boys are my most valued treasure. I finished a Master's Degree in Communications in 2009, and work in defense acquisition. I enjoy gadgets, movies, and travel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church because it provides me a way to worship my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that I find completely fulfilling. To me, this gospel meaningfully and adequately answers questions that God's children have been asking for thousands of years. Through the Church, God offers all of us a way to return to His presence and live eternally with our loved ones. And perhaps most meaningfully, it promises all people that they can know for *themselves* that these things are true.

How I live my faith

I serve as the pianist in the Primary (children's organization) of my local ward (congregation). I also serve as one of the ward's organists, which means that I play the hymns during the main worship service. My faith is the underlying foundation of my life, and I strive to follow Jesus Christ by following his example, keeping his commandments, and living his gospel.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Eric
There are several reasons that we practice baptism. We do so because we believe it's a commandment John 3:3-5, we believe in baptism for the remission of sins Acts 2:38, and we believe it demonstrates that we are humble enough to follow the perfect example of Jesus Christ. We encourage everyone everywhere, if they were to come to know that the things we profess are true, to ask themselves in their hearts as the eunuch of old "What doth hinder me to be baptized?" Acts 8:36 My oldest son recently turned eight, and as such, was old enough to choose to be baptized. He did this of his own free will, knowing that the Church is true, and desiring to take this step and I could not have experienced more joy because of his decision. Show more Show less
