Hi I'm Windy

I am blessed to have the knowledge of my Heavenly Father's plan! I know who I am, where I am going and how to get there.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother to 5 incredible children. I am blessed to be their mother! I truly do enjoy them and they are some of my best friends! I am an office manager and must stay very organized with home and work. I strive to make my children a priority in my life and sometimes that can be a struggle. I am very involved in my children's lives. I am striving to teach my children to be good people who love their Heavenly Father and want to return to Him someday! I love to cook, make a nice home for my family, entertain guests, work-out, spend time as a family, go camping, travel, anything crafty and just about anything else that does not involve the tv! I appreciate our limited time here on this earth and try to make the most of each day!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives this life real meaning and purpose! There are far too many confusing things going on in the world. I know the direction I am going and the things I need to be teaching my children. I know that I have a living Prophet to look to for counsel and to follow his example. I know that he talks with our Father in Heaven and that he will lead us in the direction that we need to go and give us counsel all along the way! There is a miraculous organization to this Gospel that lifts us, teaches us and inspires us to be better Saints! I know that this life would be far harder without the knowledge I have of this true Gospel. I can strive to live my life in a pleasing manner and be an example to the world of the happiness I feel.

How I live my faith

I really do have the best calling! I am the Primary Chorister I teach music time to ages 4 to 11...and I love it! I love being able to teach the gospel through music! I can't say I remember much from my Primary days, except for the primary songs! I know that times are TOUGH....there may just come a day that one of these children is singing one of these primary songs...just to make it through a hard day! I want the gospel to be exciting and fun and something that they can feel happy and blessed and radiate their light to others! Service is a very important part of my life. I look for opportunities on a daily basis to serve. I try to involve my family and to teach them the importance of this great act. I am a firm believer that we are the Lord's hands and we must take care of each other as He would. I look forward each night to MY time.....the time in which I read my scriptures and study the Gospel, this is what refuels me for the next day and reminds me why I do what I do. I look forward to that time each night that I get to personally talk with my Father in Heaven and express my thanks, my fears, my feelings, plead for help with my short-comings and ask for strength to be a better person. But mostly I find myself each night expressing my gratitude for all of my many blessings, my life is truly blessed and I owe it all to my Father in Heaven and to my Savior.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Windy
Mormon women are some of the strongest that I know! I most definitely believe in equality of men and women, but more importantly I believe in teamwork. My husband is my best friend and he is there to help with the projects I am involved in and I am there by his side to help him. My friends all strive to have nice homes and happy children, this does not come easily....it takes late nights of cleaning and laundering and early mornings of waking up children and getting the day started. I want to be that strong person that can get the job done, but I also want to be that soft place for my children to fall and know that I am loving and accepting of who they are. I believe in having a sit down dinner with my family each night (though we have our crazy nights just like any family), but I love this time together with my family and know that it is these simple things that bond our family together and let my children know of my love for them. I am strong and capable of doing a lot of things, but I am also very thankful for the role that my husband plays as the Priesthood Leader of our home. He directs us in the way that we should go and I am at his side to lead our family in righteousness. We complement each other in our family goals and carrying them out, he has his strong points and I have mine. When we work as a team the whole family benefits our children strive harder to please and keep the peace in our home. When it starts with parents showing love to one another everyone is more loving and kind to each other. Then we can feel a little of heaven on earth. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Windy
We can come to know our Father in Heaven just like you would any other friend! Think of some of your very best friends....how did they come to be so close and dear to your heart? We must talk with them often, share our lives with them, let them know of things you are going through....ask for advice and listen. I have noticed a lot of my very closest friends have become that way in times of trial or at a time that I really needed a friend. They have extended their hand of friendship to me and I have accepted it, trusted them and allowed them into my life. This is also true with our Father in Heaven. We must talk to Him! Share our lives with Him, every aspect of our lives. Then not only will you come to know Him...but you will come to know yourself better and you will be forever blessed with a lifelong friend....your Father! One of the biggest blessings in coming to know our Father in Heaven is that you will recognize so much better His voice when He is speaking to YOU! Show more Show less
