Hi I'm Barbara

I'm a mom, grandma, musician, children's librarian and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My knowledge of the plan of salvation, the atonement and the love Heavenly Father has for us has enabled me to weather heartache, sickness, disappointment and divorce. My outlook on life is positive and joyful because of this knowledge.

Why I am a Mormon

When I first learned about the Church it was as if all the pieces of a puzzle were coming together. I have come to understand the vast plan that Heavenly Father has laid out for us. For me the Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me an understanding of why we are here and what we are supposed to be doing with our time on earth. I understand the scriptures with much more clarity. I can see how all the aspects of the Church (doctrine, scriptures, covenants) link up into one great whole that can bring us fulfillment and joy.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy interacting with all types of people. My faith helps me understand that we are all Heavenly Father's children and he wants us to treat each other with respect and love. This helps me at my job, at my ward where I often work in music and teaching, and in my interactions with family. Because of the teachings of Jesus Christ I have more empathy for others and more understanding of our human condition. I can see the eternal implications of trying to be a better person and loving my neighbor. I have learned what forgiveness and mercy really mean.
