Hi I'm Octavio

I grew up in Mexico as a Roman Catholic. I obtained my MBA at the Darden School of Business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Mexico in a family of six children - five boys and one girl. I am now the father of six children. I was born a Catholic and became a Mormon when I was 15. I served a mission for the LDS church in the Northwest states of Mexico after High School . I enjoy spending time playing with my children and wife. I enjoy studying the scriptures and learning more about Jesus Christ and his gospel. I have a B.S. in Accounting from BYU and an MBA from the Darden School of Business. I work as a manger of busines systems analysts for one of the largest corporations in the world. I worked and lived in Yokohama, Japan for 16 months managing an Oracle ERP implementation.

Why I am a Mormon

As a little boy I remember laying on the grass in my backyard looking at the sky and starts and wonder about our life here on earth. I thought about God and what heaven must be like. I felt there must be a purpose to this life. When the mormon missonaries taught our family about God's plan of happiness for his children, including where we came from, why we are here, and where will we go after this life, it made perfect sense. I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon almost immediately. My life centers around the gospel of Jesus Christ. My faith is an integral part of my everyday life. I feel so blessed. I find true joy living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in my church on Sundays teaching Gospel Doctrine to adults. I also work with the youth as a assistant scout master. We get together weekly to work on merit badges and stregthen our faith in Jesus Christ.
