Hi I'm Jaimie

I am a convert and single mother of two...I am a mormon and proud to be.

About Me

I have two beautiful girls. I am kind of a Susie Homemaker, I can do just about anything. I am a nail technician. I love to have fun and attend church events whenever possible. I attend regularly and enjoy it a lot, its a huge part of my life as well as my childrens lives. I recently got engaged to a wonderful man who has been a member all his life and all his family are members of the lds church too. I meet my fiance through an act of service. I called a friend to help move a table to my apartment since i didnt have a truck and asked that he bring someone to help. When he showed up his friend was quite and kept to himself. I said I promise not to bite lol. My friend got us talking and we went on 9 different dates together before committing to having a relationship. He was a returned missionary and had been back for 3 years. We just got engaged over the summer of 2011 and will be married in a temple in 2012. I am so thankful for him volunteering to help a friend, who knew he would be meeting his future wife! It just goes to show that a small act of service goes along way and you never know what blessings may come from it.

Why I am a Mormon

I investigated the church for awhile before deciding to convert. I went through alot of hard times and found that my girls and I needed something more than just everyday life. I decided we needed to start attending church. I grew up Roman Catholic and decided I just didn't like it nor did I feel very welcome or at home there. When I was trying to get a hold of a missionary I looked for a phone number online but didn't find one. One day in November of 2009 I was out driving around my small hometown in Iowa and stopped to say hi to a friend raking their leaves, little did I know 4 missionaries were out walking to find more people to share their scriptures. I told my friend that I needed to go and slowly drove up to the missionaries, rolled down the car window and said calmly, " I have been looking for you, could I please have a book of mormon and begin my lessons toward baptism...". I thought that they were all about to faint, I've been told since than that this is not a regular thing, but I knew the day I saw them that this was the right decision and I finally felt at home with all the brothers and sisters. So I began my lessons and took notes on them for the Elders to read when they would come to teach, one month later I was baptized and than confirmed on my 22nd birthday, which in my mind I could have never received a greater gift than the holy spirit on my birthday. My girls and I attend family ward regularly and do not plan on ever stopping. I know this church is the one true church.

How I live my faith

I have not done any missions or callings yet, but I hope to someday be able to do that. I just converted in December of 2009. I went through the Mesa temple after my 1 year. I am going to be married in the same temple in 2012. My fiance asked me to marry him while we were standing outside the Nauvoo temple which was AMAZING! I couldnt have made it more perfect even if I would of planned it. We will attend a family ward with our two kids. Jan 2012: I got my first calling...Primary teacher! I am excited!

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Jaimie
We souldn't be paid to do the work of the Lord, we do it willingly as he would want us to. It's about real faith and believing in the lord, not money or material things. Show more Show less
