Hi I'm Katie Jane

I'm a soon-to-be nurse. I am a member of Crossfit and love pushing myself and my physical limits everyday and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm about to start my last year of nursing school, something I've looked forward to all my life. I've always had a maternal instinct to help others and take care of them when they are sick. It wasn't until after my first year of college that I realized that I should become a nurse. I believe that we can do anything we put our minds to and this is a great insight I've gained from establishing a relationship with God, my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. We are children of a Heavenly Father who loves us and will help us accomplish any good desire we have in life. I've seen this over and over in my life, as I put forth my best effort, God always magnifies it making it even greater. I enjoy challenging myself and pushing beyond whatever limits I have set for myself. This is one reason I love fitness and working out. One of my favorite hobbies is doing Crossfit, which is a strength and conditioning program. There is no greater feeling than knowing you've done something harder than ever before and finished! I'm happily married to an incredible man who is starting his first year of medical school. One of our dreams is to do a medical mission trip in the future where we can both offer our services and talents to those in underprivileged and impoverished places.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Catholic home and attended Catholic schools my entire life. Though I was taught much about Jesus Christ and God, I always felt that something was missing in my life. I went through several phases in my teenage years- first being agnostic and then later questioning if there was a God? Who was Jesus Christ? How can I find peace? After graduating high school, I began to attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on a regular basis and it was there that I found the missing piece to my soul. I found peace and pure abiding happiness. I know that every person on this earth wants to find peace and I found it here within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Why I decided to become a Mormon is because first of the way it made me feel: I had feelings of peace, hope, happiness, and joy- that stayed with me. Secondly, I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover- praying continuously and asking God to help me to know if this Book is really true. I received a very strong and powerful answer within my soul that the Book of Mormon is true and is another witness that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I'm head over heels in love my spouse and it brings me the greatest peace to know that we can be together forever, that our marriage is eternal. There is no greater blessing than knowing I can have my family after this life ends. I find strength and peace knowing that God still communicates with us today through a living Prophet on earth just as He did in times of old with Noah, Moses, or Abraham. I am grateful that on this earth this very day there are 12 living Apostles of Jesus Christ that stand as His witnesses and spread His word to those throughout the world. If you are searching for peace, hope, happiness, or a closer relationship with God- please consider reading the Book of Mormon and learning more about the teachings within this precious book. They will bring you closer to God, I promise.

How I live my faith

First things first, I want you to know that no matter where you come from or where you have been, God loves you and has a special plan for you. This has been evident in my less than perfect life over and over again. How grateful I am to know that God loves us perfectly even when we are not so perfect. I am so happy and grateful to feel God's love and this is something available to all men and women young and old. I'm not perfect but I always try to be kind and Christ-like to those around me. I try to have a positive attitude and always be happy even when life is hard and not working the way I want. Happiness is a choice and it influences countless people we meet throughout the day. I also try to get involved in volunteer services throughout my school and the community. Whether it be being part of the Student Nurse Association, volunteering at the local city Marathon, visiting 3 elderly ladies each month, or working with the Children's organization in my local Church ward, I enjoy helping others. Things that strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ are studying the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. This book is full of power and can influence us and give us the strength to change. Praying is also something powerful that I strive to use in my life along with attending the Holy Temples.
