Hi I'm Brad

I love video games, outdoors, movies, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love anything out doors. I always used to tell my friends, "Don't bother calling me, you wont find me in the house." I love being outside, I feel close to God when I am out in His creation. I love Halo and the Call of Duty series. Getting a head shot or two on your friends is always fun. RPGs are fun too, my favorite game right now would have to be the Mass Effect series by Bioware. Right now I am on a mission for the Lord. You know trying to serve the "big man up stairs" all I can. Just trying to give to the world what has been given to me. After my mission I plan on getting married and going to collage. I am hoping to be a biologist, though we will have to see what God has in store for me. Its like the old saying goes "If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans."

Why I am a Mormon

My mother is a good Southern Baptist woman who spared no expense, pain, and time to raise her children by herself, and to instruct us in the ways of God. My mother always made time to instruct us in the Bible, and teach us the stories that she knows is true, and would turn her rowdy children into good Christians. I owe a lot to God for the mother he blessed me with. Because of her teachings I always knew there was a God, that he loved me, and that Jesus is the Christ. I had heard a lot about the Mormon Religion growing up. Mainly just the anti that spreads around like wild fire, and I was a big believer in most all I heard that was negative about their religion. To me the Mormon religion was a Cult, that worshiped a man. I never thought of it as being christian. One of my friends and I got into a conversation about religion. I knew she was a Christian because she always talked about Christ. That is when I found out she was a Mormon. At the end of the conversation she had invited me to church with her. I went to Church and and saw that most everything I was told about them was wrong. Everything was about Christ, there was not a thing they said that wasn't. That got me wondering about what they really believed. I requested for the missionaries to come to my home and teach me about their religion. I had no interest in converting, just to learn what they really believe. The funny thing is I learn more then I thought I would! They taught me out of the Bible, and the Book of Mormon. When I read the two on my own, hoping to disprove the Book of Mormon, but together it helped me understand the Bible so much clearer. It made it make a lot more since. Since I could not prove it wrong with the anti I knew, and researched, and the effect it was having on my knowledge of the Bible I had to know if it was true. So I prayed about it, and I can tell you that I know this Church is true, because God answered my prayer. I know he will answer yours, if you have real intent.

How I live my faith

By showing it! The bible says that "I will show you my faith by my works." I can say or think what ever I want, but to actually have faith means that I have to act on my faith. I want to let the world know who I am and what I stand for, and the only way to do that is to live what I know. I know this gospel is true so I live it, and I do that for my Savior Jesus Christ. The Bible says, "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."

In whom should we have faith?

Brad
We should have faith in Jesus Christ. Christ himself says that he is the "Way, the truth, and the life." By and through him is the only way we can achieve salvation, through him our "weaknesses become our strengths." Faith in Christ helps us resolve personal concerns. It teaches us that we are more then just a face in a crowd, but a son, and daughter of the Living God, our Father in Heaven. That to God we are so important that he allowed his son to come to earth, and be crucified for us. That is how important everyone of us are. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Brad
Absolutely yes. God has always used prophets even in the Old and New Testaments to speak to his children. It is the same today.  Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Brad
The Priesthood is the power to act in God's name. It is his authority given to men to act, and perform sacred ordinances in his name. Such as baptism, blessing the sick, giving the gift of the Holy Ghost, etc.   Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Brad
It is an absolute truth, and you can know it, by reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. Where the record of that sacred event is recorded for all of us to know.  Does God only love one part of the world? Does He not love all his children? I can tell you for a fact that he does, and if he does then why would it be so hard to believe that he would send his son to visit his children in the ancient Americas? Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Brad
Yes! The Holy Bible is the word of God to his children in ancient Palestine. In it is the record of Gods dealings with the children of Israel. It contains a detailed account of the Lords Ministry in the land of Jerusalem, and the history and growth of the ancient church that Jesus Christ set up while he was on the earth. It was a verse in the Bible that led Joseph Smith to pray, and to see God the Father, and Jesus Christ. It was a verse in the Bible that led to the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it was found in its original form in the Bible, and the bringing forth of the Book of Mormon, which supports and upholds the Bible. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Brad
No, not at all. We respect the man for what he did, but he was just that. A man. We worship the Almighty God, and his son Jesus Christ.  Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Brad
Yes we do. Why would a loving and just God put families together on earth, and then rip them apart after this life? The family has always been meant to be eternal, since the foundation of the world. If sacred covenants are made and kept, then the family can be eternal.  Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Brad
Pray about it. Don't take anyone's word for it, not even a Mormon's word for it. Ask God, he will tell you.  Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Brad
We believe wholeheartedly in the Lord Jesus Christ. A prophet in the Book of Mormon in the book of 2 Nephi says "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."  After all the name of our church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. What is the Book of Mormon?

Brad
The Holy Bible is the record of God's dealings with his children in ancient Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a record of God's dealings with his children here in the ancient Americas. Would God, who loves all his children, really give his gospel to only one side of the world, and let the rest of it dwindle in spiritual darkness? Of course not! He loves all of his children. That is what the Book of Mormon is. His gospel revealed to the ancient Americans, that testifies that Jesus is the Christ the living Son of God.  Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Brad
All worthy young men are encouraged to go on a mission if they so chose. All worthy young women may also go on a mission if they so chose. Ultimately though it comes down to a person's choice. Missionary service is completely voluntary. Missionaries do not get paid for their service, nor do they receive any kind of compensation. Most all missionaries save up the money to go on a mission before they leave so they can support themselves for 18 months to 2 years. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Brad
Because they don't know us. Simple as that.  Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Brad
I can not look out a window, or see the face of a child with out seeing the handy work of God. When I look at all that is around me, and increase my knowledge in science, or anything for that matter I can not but glory in the fact there is a God.  Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Brad
We believe that the Family is ordained of God to be between a husband and wife, and children. We believe that the Family is the most central element to society, and highly sacred. We also know that the family is meant to be eternal.  Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Brad
The Holy Ghost is the third person in the Godhead. He is a personage of spirit without a tangible body. The Holy Ghost testifies of all truth and guides us throughout our lives, as long as we remain worthy to have him with us. The Gift of the Holy Ghost is given to us by the laying on of hands after we are baptized into the Kingdom of God.  Show more Show less

What is faith?

Brad
Faith is the essence of things hoped for, and the evidence of things unseen. Faith is not a perfect knowledge, but rather the striving to know that something is true with out seeing it. For example I have never seen Ireland, but I hear that it is a place, and I have seen pictures of it, but though I have never seen it, I know that it is real. The fact that I know that it is real though I personally have never been there, that is faith.  Show more Show less
