Hi I'm Carillisa

I'm a wife and mother of two. I grew up in Utah and love being a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and a mother of two. Along with a son and a daughter, our family consists of a cherished dog and two cats. In my spare time I love to go for car rides, long or short, and I thoroughly enjoy being involved in my kids' lives. My favorite day of the week is date night with my hubby and if I could, I'd eat Thai food at least once a week. I also enjoy cooking and hosting parties with friends and family. I love anything artistic...painting, sketching, crafting, sewing, design, etc. I have recently returned to school to receive my Bachelors degree in Family Consumer Science. I hope to either teach High School or at the University level. I love the hope of serving a mission or two with my spouse after my kids have been raised and are on their own. I also can hardly wait to have a few little grandkids to cuddle and spoil!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a member of the church. When I was baptized, I was given the opportunity to be baptized and I followed my parents example and was. But, even when you are born into the gospel, you still have to make the decision to follow it's principles and gain a testimony for yourself. As a teenager, I prayed and made the decision that I was happiest following the teachings that I learned each week in church. Later, I learned to recognize the Spirit as it prompted me to choose the right path. Today, I look back on my life and see how my testimony has grown and how I have come to know that being a Mormon is about coming to know God and his son, Jesus Christ. Living the teachings of the church brings peace and happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. Day to day choices are made that either increase my faith or cause fear. I don't always make the perfect choice, but I know that as I continue to try my best, my Father in Heaven will accept what I have to offer. Service is another way I try to live my faith. By helping and encouraging those around me I draw closer to my Savior. One of the best ways to know Jesus Christ is to follow his example. He lived the perfect life of love, teaching and service. He suffered great pains and died so that I might live again. I live my faith by striving to be the kind of person that He would want me to be. Loving, kind, humble and willing to be taught, repentant and eager to return home to live with my Heavenly Father.
