Hi I'm Michael Linville

I'm a Mormon and grateful I am in these challenging times.

About Me

To call me a MotorHead would be an understatement. I have loved motorized vehicles for as long as I can remember. When I was ten, I bought a non-running Briggs & Stratton 4HP motor for seven dollars. I got it running and replaced the 3HP motor on my friends minibike with it and have the scars to show for it. I later installed a moped motor in the frame of my stingray bicycle. That project didn't go too well but nevertheless, I have had a love for motor cycles ever since. That said, my greatest passion in this life is my lovely wife and eight children. They are the MOST important along with my faith in Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Sacramento and have a wonderful grandmother now gone to the other side that raised me a good portion of my young life. She was a staunch Lutheran and read one page of her Bible every night. Church didn't mean much to me at that time, but the example she set with her love of the Lord stuck with me. I moved to Portland OR when I was 20, met a beautiful girl and got married when I was 23. That wonderful women invited the missionaries over about 6 months later. I wanted no part of it and left during their first visit. They gave my wife a Book of Mormon and she started reading it. She read a little of it to me and it sounded interesting so I got my own copy. When I read the first page I KNEW it was true. It was like the Lord turned on a light switch in my head. It was such a powerful feeling that I could not deny it and was willing and did put my entire life in the hands of the Lord. Since that time 37 years ago I have witnessed so many miracles in my life and in the lives of others that my knowlege, understanding and testimony of this Gospel is still rock solid. There is absolutley no question in my mind of the Lords hand in this earths creation and our existence in it.

How I live my faith

I got up early this morning and said a prayer as I do each morning. I thought of how much the Lord has done for me in my life. I find great comfort in knowing that he loves me and continually works with me to help me become the best that I can be. I have served in many positions in the church. With 5 sons and 3 daughters, I have worked mostly with the young men, through the Boy Scouts of America and other programs. I love people and feel for the trials they encounter. I look for opportunities to help them anyway I can and am blessed when i do so.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Michael Linville
Thats a good question. How do you know? I have asked many people how they got a testimony of Jesus Christ. There are as many stories as there are people. It's kind of like climbing a ladder up a tall wall. You have to do those things that lead you toward the truth like reading the scriptures and praying even though you don't yet know. You keep putting forth the effort and all of a sudden you get to the top of the wall and you see whats on the other side.......The Lord Jesus Christ waiting to greet you. The scriptures in James, chapter 4, verse 8, tell us; Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. In other words, work toward finding out the truth and the Savior will meet you in the middle. I actually thing he goes about 90 percent when you put in 10. Show more Show less
