Hi I'm David

I'm a Texan in the car business and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been in the retail automotive business for almost 30 years. When not working or serving in the church, I enjoy spending my free time with my family. From watching movies to playing golf, we spend not only quality time together, but also quantity. I married my high school sweetheart and am still crazy in love with her. We've raised 5 great children to adulthood and look forward to our family growing with each new addition in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 11 years old, everyone in my family joined the church with the exception of my father. Our family was invited to our neighbor's home and introduced to the missionaries. They shared a message about Jesus Christ and his church. They said after centuries of apostasy, Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ appeared in 1820 to a 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith in response to his humble prayer about what church he should join. This boy was told he would be an instrument in God's hands and would be called as a prophet to restore the true church of Jesus Christ in these the latter days. They told us about the Book of Mormon, a second witness of Jesus Christ, which Joseph Smith would translate from ancient records and publish to the world. This book companioned with the bible would stand as a witness of God's dealings with all of his children so that we would know of the surety of Jesus Christ and his atonement and his resurrection. They said thru the power of the Holy Ghost we could know the truth of their message. In answer to our prayers, we were baptized and given the gift of the Holy Ghost. Since that time, I have served a full time mission for 2 years in Los Angeles, have married in the temple for time and eternity, and have shared my happiness with others like you. No other happiness or peace compares to what I have now in my life because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I invite you to explore with the missionaries the message that changed my life. It is true.

How I live my faith

All 5 of my children were active in sports until they graduated high school. Basketball, baseball, golf, football, and sports medicine have kept each one of them and us busy in the school and the community for over 20 years. Side by side with community involvement is the participation and service in the church. I am the bishop in our ward, the ecclesiastically leader of our congregation. Service in the church is voluntary without paid clergy. Each member of the church offers of their time and talents to help individuals come unto Christ and be happy. When released as bishop, I may be asked to offer my time and talents helping little ones in a nursery setting or teaching youth in a Sunday School class or helping missionaries teach others the gospel of Jesus Christ. The key is to be happy serving and helping others.
