Hi I'm Kenny

I'm a college student. I love sports. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a senior in college studying business. I love to play sports or anything else competitive. I especially love to play basketball and ping-pong. I come from a family of eight kids. I have a twin sister who is married.

Why I am a Mormon

I am someone that always has a hard time making decisions in my life. I have to be thinking about school, work, and marriage. The gospel of Jesus Christ is what gives me the direction I need in my life. I know that I can pray to my heavenly father and that he will help me and guide me. I also know that he has given me other resources that teach me the right path I should be on like the Book of Mormon and a living prophet. I also find so much comfort in knowing that God has provided a plan called the Plan of Salvation that allows for me to know my purpose here and how I can be happy.

How I live my faith

It is more than a belief but a way of life. The decisions I make throughout the day are based on the principles and doctrines that I understand and hold dear. I continually pray to my heavenly father both morning and night. I read the scriptures that give me spiritual strength and help me stay on the right path. Through my actions and my example I show others how they can be happy through the gospel of Jesus Christ. My faith is my life.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The church was founded by Jesus Christ. It always has been since the beginning of time. We can see more specifically how the church should be organized by reading the new testament and seeing how Christ established his church when he was on the earth. He called 12 apostles and gave them power, called the priesthood, to teach and act in his name. Through a living prophet Christ has established this church once again on the earth. It reflects the church that Christ had originally organized with prophets, apostles, and the priesthood. Jesus Christ is the one who is at the head of this church but he restored it (or brought it back the same way it was) through the prophet Joseph Smith. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You can find out that what we believe is true by praying and asking God. No one can convince you that we believe the truth and that is not our intention anyway. In the Book of Mormon we read, "We invite all men everywhere to READ the Book of Mormon, to PONDER in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ASK God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true....Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost. (emphasis added) The three steps outlined in this promise are to read, ponder and ask. God will then answer with the Holy Ghost through feelings such as peace, happiness, comfort and joy. I know that anyone can find out for themselves that our message is true. I know this becuase I have read the Book of Mormon, pondered its message, and asked to know if it is true. Show more Show less
