Hi I'm Bill

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband. I am a proud father of four adult children and a grandfather of two. I work in information technology in the oil and gas industry. I enjoy singing, cycling, hiking and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon for about 34 years now. I was searching for a church to return to after a period away from regular attendance. A friend of mine who shared my musical interest in playing bagpipes and I spent time together and had many religious discussions. He eventually invited me to church and to sing with his congregation's choir. It was fun and the people were friendly. He also gave me a Book of Mormon and introduced me to some missionaries who were serving in the area. I met with them and learned of the basic doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I felt a calmness and peace as I met with the missionaries. They invited me to pray about what I read and what we discussed to know if it was true. At first I didn't really care if it was true but after a time, I wanted and then needed to know. I knelt in prayer and ask God if the things the missionaries had shared with me were of Him and were true. It didn't happen right away, but after a time, I received a warm, peaceful feeling and knew that it was true. This is why I joined the church those many years ago. I have remained an active Mormon and raised my family in this faith because I know to my very core, that God and Jesus Christ live and love me and all the people of the world. I know that God has a plan for me and that gives me direction, hope and peace.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving as our ward's (congregation's) clerk. I help to keep track of membership and financial records. I have the privilege of serving closely with all the ward's leaders.
