Why I am a Mormon

Well, because I choose to be. My great-grandma got baptized in England over a century ago, but my family (most of them) stopped going to church. My immediate family as well, so when I was 19 I decided that I had to figure out if the church was true, and if I was going to be a part of it. I prayed, fasted, and read the Book of Mormon. I came to know that it indeed was true and have been active ever since, in spite of the decisions of my family members. I just don't know where I'd be without it!

How I live my faith

I was a Primary teacher for 14 years and recently released. That means I taught Sunday School to children. In the church we are called to a position and we volunteer. There are no paid positions in the church. I loved teaching the children about Jesus and how much Heavenly Father loves them. We believe that our church leaders are inspired to place us where we are supposed to be. I am currently awaiting my new calling, and wonder what it will be! Today we went and cleaned a cemetery. It felt good to do service.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Darcy Anne
Like regular people... minus alcohol, coffee, pre-marital relations, etc. We have a big focus on family, we go to church for 3 hrs on Sundays, have family prayer and scripture study, try to have dinner together, and do lots of geneology! (Well, at least I do.) We dress modestly, but in regular type clothing... Most families I know do a lot of service in their communities and are involved in schools to make life better for all...
