Hi I'm Casey

I live in the South Bay Area in California. I'm a high school administrator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 3 children and a fourth one is soon to arrive. I enjoy sports--watching and playing. I love traveling. I have worked in the education field for the last 20 years since graduating from college. I am bilingual because I served a mission in Central America. This has afforded me countless opportunities to serve those in the latino community. I love being with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because God answered my prayer that this is His church that He restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. One thing that I am especially grateful for is the unchanging moral principles which the church teaches about family. These principles are a spiritual anchor for me as I lead my family in these trying times. Key to my conversion was reading the Book of Mormon. I first read the Book of Mormon when I was 18 years old, despite being a member my entire life. When I read the Book of Mormon that first time I finished it in 3 weeks and I was spiritually impressed. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I felt a peace and surety in my heart and mind that what I had been taught while I grew up in the church was true. This was the beginning of my personal spiritual conversion. I've been blessed with subsequent spiritual experiences that have reconfirmed my conviction that God leads and guides this church through revelation to His chosen prophet. I am so thankful for the blessings I receive as I strive to live my life according to God's commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the small and simple things that bring me closer to my Savior and that bring me peace and happiness. I teach my children these same small and simple things of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of these small and simple things we do in our home are family prayer, family night (where one of us prepares a short lesson based on a church topic), keep the Sabbath day holy, among others. In church I serve as a support person to the members of a Spanish speaking congregation and to those who supervise Sunday School classes. On Sunday I spend the day with my family and often times visit families in my local congregation that I have been asked to watch over and care for as a home teacher.

Are Mormons Christians?

Casey
I definitely consider myself a Christian, since Christ is at the center of all things for me. The church bears his name The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. Without Christ there would be no 'mormons' to speak of. Show more Show less
