Hi I'm John

I am a husband, a father of four and I am also a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Wyoming. I was raised in the Church, but like all members, I had to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. While in my youth, I read and studied the Book of Mormon and gained a testimony of its truthfulness. I served a two-year mission for the Church in the Canada Halifax (Nova Scotia) Mission. It was a wonderful experience and I gained a deep love for the people and places of eastern Canada. I have been married to my wife for 33 wonderful years and we are the proud parents of four children and four (soon to be five) grandchildren. My life has been richly blessed through my membership in the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that God loves his children today just as much as he loved the people when Peter, James and John walked the earth and preached with his authority. I believe our Heavenly Father speaks through modern-day apostles and prophets who are no different than those we read of in the Holy Scriptures. I know that God has today organized his church to resemble the church that Christ founded when he walked the earth. If he had apostles and prophets during the early days, why wouldn't he have them today? He would and he does. I am a Mormon because that organization and the priesthood keys to act in his name are found on the earth today in the Church. I am a Mormon because I believe that just like the Bible, the Book of Mormon is also the word of God. It is, truly, another testament of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I have gotten on my knees and asked to know if he hears me, if these scriptures are true and if the words and counsel of today's prophets and apostles are true. The answers to me have confirmed it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being kind to and serving others, especially my family. I strive to emulate the life of the Savior in all that I do and say. I serve in the Priesthood leadership of my ward where my responsibility is to watch over the member of our ward and be with and strengthen them.
