Hi I'm Andrea Auduong

I am a wife. A mom. I like to cook, bake, eat, have fun and read with my family...in that order. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an American-born Vietnamese who grew up in the church, my parents being first-generation American citizens and among the first members of the first Vietnamese branch in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I was raised speaking Vietnamese and to never forget my rich heritage and culture, yet I was raised in a Gospel-centered culture. I served a Mormon mission in Oakland, California, USA, speaking Spanish and have come to love the Latino people so much. I love all three of my cultures, blanketed by the most important culture, the Gospel-centered culture of Christ-like love and service.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born and raised in the Church, I too needed to find out for myself why this is the true church and why just being good isn't enough. Did I truly believe what I've been taught? And for what reason? My prayer was answered and each day and year, I find myself gaining stronger witnesses of what I was taught since a child. I know this church is true, in the sense that it is the vehicle with all the tools to allow us full access to the blessings of the Atonement of Jesus Christ to bring us back to Him. I know that unless I apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, I cannot return to my Heavenly Father. And to apply the Gospel principles and ordinances taught in the scriptures, there needs to be the authority to receive the ordinances necessary to return to my Heavenly Father. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the church the Savior has restored upon the earth again with the same Priesthood Authority that Christ's Apostles possessed. I know that through the instrumentality of Joseph Smith the Church of Jesus Christ and His Priesthood power were established again on the earth. I know the Book of Mormon brings us closer to Christ and plainly shows how. It is another witness of Jesus Christ. And I know we have a living prophet today to lead and guide us in these last days of a changing world because our Heavenly Father loves us. Ask to know the truth for yourself. I have, as have 13 million plus members and we wouldn't be here were it not for our Heavenly Father answering our prayers through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I am not perfect, but I certainly do try to live the Gospel as best as I can each day. It is in our willingness to serve the Lord that the opportunities to love others present themselves. It is because I love the Lord, I do what I can to accept the opportunities that I come across.

In whom should we have faith?

Andrea Auduong
I know we should have faith in Jesus Christ. Having faith in Jesus Christ not only means believing in Him, but also desiring to follow and do the things He has asked us. Reading stories and scriptures of Jesus Christ, praying to Him, serving others, making choices we know to be righteous are among many things we can do to increase our faith in Him. I know I have faith when I feel peace, love, and kindness and a resolution to move forward. I can pray to the Lord and ask for more faith and the peace He can offer me when I am troubled, scared, or sad. Show more Show less
