Hi I'm Dan

I have a wonderful wife and family. I know and love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are the proud parents of four children, all girls except for three. We now have eight grandchildren, and holding true to form, six are boys and the other two are girls. I enjoy outdoor activities including but not limited to camping, hiking, and dutch oven cooking. I have recently taken up cycling and running and am looking forward to participating in my first triathlon. I enjoy associating with the youth in our community as I have the opportunity to work with them through the church, community service clubs, and the Scouting program. The youth have so much potential for greatness, and I learn from them daily.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God lives and that His son, Jesus Christ, came to earth to atone for us. I know that Jesus Christ has organized His church on the earth today as He did when he was on the earth, and that we have a living Prophet of God on the earth today, just as in times of old. I have read the Book of Mormon, and have come to know for myself that it is another witness of Jesus Christ, a companion to the Bible. It is through the gospel of Jesus Christ that I find not only hope and peace in this life, but also the stability that I need to focus on the things that matter most amidst all the distractions and challenges of this mortal existence. I find great satisfaction in knowing that I have a loving Heavenly Father that has an eternal plan for each of his children, and that includes me and my family.

How I live my faith

I have come to know the importance of studying the scriptures and of praying to my Father in Heaven on a daily basis. Through this study and prayer I am better able to understand the purpose of this life. Consequently, I come to know my Savior better. Therefore, I strive in my daily life to follow His example, as He went about doing good at all times. I have the opportunity in the church and in the community in which I live, to serve others. As an adult, my service in the Church started shortly after I was married when I was called to serve as a youth leader and Scoutmaster. I have had the opportunity over the last 30 years to serve in some capacity with the outstanding young men and young women in the Church. I have found that as I reach out to others in love and kindness I am able to have the joy and happiness promised to each of us.
