Hi I'm Aaron

I'm an Airman, bowler, hiker, father, and husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Aaron. I have been in the Air Force for 10 years now and am the proud daddy of 4 kids--an 10 yr old boy, twin 7 yr old girls, and a 2 yr old daughter. I am married to my best friend. Together we do almost everything no matter what the activity.

Why I am a Mormon

First I should mention that I am a convert. For the first 20 years of my life, I wandered from church to church looking for a place to call home. I believed in God but had trouble identifying with any specific religion. My first wife's family introduced me to the Gospel and I was immediately attracted to the true principles that were shown to me. I have found that as I continue to work hard to follow what I believe and be a good husband and father, my life and my family's life are blessed immensely. I love that we are an eternal family with the opportunity to be together after this life. I love the peace that living the Gospel brings. I don't have any less difficult times than anybody else, but through the Savior's atonement getting through those times seems to come a little easier.

How I live my faith

Living my faith begins in my home. Together with my wife we ensure that we are taking time to do the little things like praying and reading our scriptures as a family. We make sure to spend plenty of quality time as a family. To help out at Church, I am a Webelos Cub Scout den leader. Each week my wife and I together teach 10 yr old boys the basics of scouting and other essential skills. It is an incredibly rewarding way to participate in our Ward. Additionally, we are both part of the Ward Choir. Music is an especially good way to bring the spirit into my life.

In whom should we have faith?

Our faith lies in the only one able to provide us eternal salvation: Jesus Christ. Our faith in Jesus Christ and his ability to provide an atonement for us leads us to helping others aka good works. However, works will not get us into Heaven. We absolutely recognize that it is through the grace of God that we have been provided a Savior. But we also know that it is by fruits that you can recognize a disciple of Jesus Christ. Our hope is that by acting on our faith, we can bring ourselves closer to God and help others too. Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Prophets have been used since the beginning of the world as the vehicle through which God speaks to His people about things that everyone needs to hear. The idea of a living prophet might seem strange to some, but it makes perfect sense to me because it follows the pattern that is present throughout the entire Bible. It is so wonderful to have a living prophet, to be able to listen to his counsel, and know that God is using him to help guide us. Ever since the restoration of the Gospel through Joseph Smith, there has not been a time where a prophet has not been on the earth. Currently, God's prophet is Thomas S. Monson. Show more Show less
