Hi I'm Rob

I grew up in Delaware. I'm a retired dentist, a husband, a father, and grandfather. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware in an LDS family. The Church was very small in those days in the Eastern United States. My parents were wonderful examples of how to live a clean and purposeful life. From them I was taught the Gospel and came to know for myself the love of the Savior. After spending two years in France and Belgium as a missionary I returned to my university studies where I met the love of my life, my wife. Thirty-seven years later we have six children and eighteen grandchildren. I love gardening, fishing, reading, hiking, and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith is much more than just a religion. It affects my life in so many ways. The joy, satisfaction, reassurance, and confidence I experience from day to day is linked to what I know to be true. Because I know there is a prophet of God on earth today and because I know that Christ's church is again here for us to enjoy, I am richly blessed. Anyone can know what I know for themselves. It is no secret, and not a mystery. I have prayed to know if the things taught by the Church are true and I have had an answer to those prayers through the Holy Ghost. With the knowledge that the restoration of Christ's church has taken place, any one can know the same joys that members of the Church experience. If the claims of this church are true, and I am a witness that they are, how could anyone not want to know for themselves? I'm a Mormon because I have found out for myself that the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. It is the church of Jesus Christ on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by how I treat those around me, by raising my family, and by serving in my community and ward (the local congregation). Over the years I have taught Sunday classes, served as a Scout Master, taught high schoolers in a daily early morning gospel study, and had the privilege of overseeing the local congregation as the bishop. All members donate their time willingly to fulfill these responsibilities. I have served in the community as a member of the school board and on various committees. Because I love my Savior, I want to follow Him. His work and His plan for me and my family are important to me. I know His restored church is here to bless our lives, even our entire existence. Knowing this motivates my thoughts and actions. This reassurance gives me peace and allows me to keep going and keep trying even when it is difficult. My wife and I are in West Africa serving as missionaries representing the Church. This will be for three years. We love doing what we know the Lord wants us to do, even when it seems hard at the outset. We have been richly blessed through living our faith.
