Hi I'm Sheri

"I love the Temple! I have devoted my life to it. It has so many blessings to offer. I am a child of God and a Mormon."

About Me

I am a single mother to one precious son. I'm grateful for my family, and all those around me who helped me in his upbringing. I work in a clerical position in my employment, and will always be a mother and a homemaker in life. I have lived all my life in Utah, although my parents were born and raised out of the state of Utah. My mother came from a stock of Pioneers who converted to the Gospel in the early days of the Church when the first Missionaries were sent out to preach the Gospel in England and Canada. These ancestors of mine traveled across seas and oceans to gather in Nauvoo, Illinois, and then across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley. My Dad is a convert as a young man and grew up in the Southern states. Together our family was raised to love and help all, no matter what, who and where they are in life. I love people for this very reason.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. I had so many wonderful memories of Primary, because my mother was involved in leadership positions all the years I attended. I loved Primary and learned so much about Heavenly Father, the Gospel and the Prophet Joseph Smith. I wish I could say that carried over into my Young Women years. I fell into total inactivity during my teenage years. It was almost ten years later that a sweet Visiting Teacher who was assigned to me made a huge difference in my life. She loved and inspired me. I then knew that I wanted to raise my son in the Gospel, and share with him a knowledge of an all loving Heavenly Father. I turned my heart and thoughts to the Lord. It was a process, and did not take place over night. Each day I tried to do my best by following the example of the Savior Jesus Christ and keeping the commandments. I learned how to sincerely pray, read the scriptures and do the things that Heavenly Father would want me to do. I was trying to teach my son all these things as he grew each day, and in turn it was teaching me how to become more Christ like. Once again my life went back to where it started for me in the Gospel, the Primary. Our home was filled with the faith of a little child, songs and talk of the Gospel. I continue to live the Gospel, because I love it with all my heart and I know it is true. I love Heavenly Father and all that Jesus Christ has done for us.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings and assignments in the Church. I have been a Ward Missionary, secretary on a committee for our ladies program, an indexing committee, to help make public records and documents availalbe for any one to view for family history research, temple volunteer, and many different type of family history callings. I am a visiting teacher and enjoy the ladies that I get to visit and share time with. These ladies have been a great blessing in my life in countless ways. I also enjoy and have participated in many humanitarian efforts and projects over the course of my life. I'm a big supporter of the scouting program, and have served as a volunteer in that organization for many years in the past. I love the gifts of charity and how we are never alone in our trials in life. There are so many good people willing to serve and give, and there are so many in need. "Charity is the pure love of Christ." (see "The Book of Mormon", Moroni, Chapter 10, Verse 47)
