Hi I'm April

I love belonging to a church I believe in.

About Me

Mother of two teenagers! Wife to a great man. Full time real estate agent. I love to learn, travel, explore, try new things and be active.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. Many times the fact that I was born into the church has really made me question if it was true, so I have spent a lot of time studying and praying as to whether or not this church is true. Many many times I have had my prayers answered confirming I belong to the right church. Usually the answers come in peices, such as a confirmation that the principle of tithing is right or that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, or that prayer really works. All of these things peice together to confirm to me that I belong to the right church.

How I live my faith

I try to be honest in everything I do. I teach my kids what I believe is important every chance I get through actions and words. I try to help others all I can. It's hard to find balance in this area at times, but I do love helping others do things they can't do themselves. I pray A LOT. Prayer is amazing. It works! I act in faith and test the principles I learn in church. I'm not always great at reading my scriptures on a regular basis, but when I do read regularly I notice a big difference in the way I feel.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Oh! I love this question. I love belonging to a church where everyone works for free. Everyone from the top clergy members down to the people who take out the trash do it for free. We are following Christ's example in serving those we live by and go to church with. There is nothing better than helping someone else out to forget your own problems. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Recently I heard a speaker talk about trying to describe the taste of chocolate to someone who had never tasted it. How could you? You just have to taste it to understand. It's the same with reading the scriptures and praying. You have to try it to know if it works. Give it time and be sincere and you'll see what I'm talking about. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Yes we believe in equality! We are independant strong people. We are EQUAL in the gospel but we do have different responsibilties in certain areas. As a woman in my church I do not hold the priesthood, but I hold a higher level of responsiblity in many other ways. I personally love being a woman in my church. No man who truly believes and lives the principles of our church would ever look down on me, disresepct my opinion, or not allow me to be a leader because I am a woman. Show more Show less
