Hi I'm Adam S.

I grew up in California. I'm a medical student, husband, father and jazz musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and have a son. I play the sax and flute and love to play jazz. I am a medical student and love to learn. When not in the classroom or studying, I try to hit the slopes and ski in the winter or go camping or backpacking in the summer. I love going on adventures with my wife and son as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon, but there was a time in my life when I had to choose and find out for myself if all of the things I had been taught were true. There was one day in particular in high school where I felt as though everything was falling apart around me: my friends, my classes and grades, and even my family. When I got home that day I decided to pray and ask God for comfort since I felt absolutely alone. At the end of my prayer, I remember looking over at my night stand and seeing my scriptures. I decided to open my Book of Mormon and I began to read. As I read, it felt as though my Heavenly Father was embracing me in his arms and all of my cold and lonesome feelings began to melt away. From that moment, I knew that I had a father in heaven who loved me, knew my needs and answered prayers. Today, I still feel our Heavenly Father's love and I know we are all His children.

How I live my faith

I attend church on Sunday and listen to lessons given by other members about Jesus Christ, the scriptures and how I can be a better father and husband. In terms of service, another member of the church and myself go and visit a few families who attend church with us. We ask about how their jobs and families are and share with them a spiritual message about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
