Hi I'm Gerardo

About Me

I'm currently a college student. I'm majoring in marketing and advertising. I really enjoy going to the movies, listening to all sorts of music, and one of my favorite things to do is bowling.

Why I am a Mormon

Towards the end of 2005 my family was introduced to the church by one of my uncles. We were taught by Sister Missionaries that were serving in our area. I remember listening to them and how everything they taught us just made sense. As my family started to go to the LDS Sunday services, we noticed the changes that started to take place in our family. Also, as I read from the Book of Mormon, I felt reassured that what we were doing was right. That we were on the right track. So, after a month of investigating the LDS church my family and I decided to be baptized. It was an amazing day. I am eternally grateful for having found the church. The blessings that my family has received over the last four years are incredible. We are a stronger family unit and we strengthen each other. I know that The Book of Mormon is a true book of scripture and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He is my Savior and Redeemer. I love Him and I am eternally grateful to Him for having changed my life.

How I live my faith

I try to do my best in following the commandments. I also attend church every Sunday and try to help out in what ever way I can. One of my goals is to improve constantly. Its not easy but I focus on the little aspects of my life that I know I can improve. It's never easy but I do my best. Little by little, I'll get to where I want to be.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

You volunteer to serve a mission so you do not get paid. Many of the young men who go out save money so they can pay their way through their missions. Sometimes their parents will help them as well. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes! I know without a doubt that we have a living prophet today. His name is Thomas S. Monson. He has been called of God to lead our church. God has always worked through His prophets and He will continue to do so. It is through prophets that God makes His will known. Every six months, the church holds a world wide general conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, that is broadcasted all over the world. In these conferences, the prophet addresses the church as a whole. He, along with other church leaders, gives us counsel concerning matters that are going on around the world. When we follow the prophets counsel, we are blessed. I am grateful that God has again called prophets to lead His people. Show more Show less
