Hi I'm Ted

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 42 and a Father of 5 children, 3 from a previous marriage and 2 in my current marriage of 10 years with their ages ranging from 19 to 7. My Wife and I work together in a catering business which keeps us busy. My wife joke sometime that we are complete opposites, some may think that is a warning sign for trouble but we have found it strengthens our relationship as we rely on the other in areas we are not as strong.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because i have come to know through study and prayer that God has a plan for me on this Earth and that I'm not here on Earth to just be born, live, and die. I have also come to know the rich blessings that come into my life as I try to be more like Jesus everyday. One main areas of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that drives me is the knowledge that I can be with my Wife and Family forever beyond the grave.

How I live my faith

In the Church the opportunity to work with others is a amazing part. There have been so many times that I have learned so much from working with great people with wide backgrounds and talents. As I have helped and served as a scout master, sunday school teacher, nursery helper, etc I feel I have benefitted more than those I was serving. I've just been asked to work with my Wife with older teens in the sunday school program which will be amazing.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The Bible is amazing, to have records that are so old that testify of God and Jesus Christ. I feel a lot can be lost in the different translations as I have read many and felt very different about the same passage. The bible reveals many import truths about Jesus Christ and his life and ministry and how God have followed a pattern in communicating with his children on Earth. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

For me it is the complexity of the universe, earth, and human body. To have so many things work in perfect harmony, I see no way for all those things to happen by chance. When I have experienced the birth of each of my children the sprit touched my heart to know they where the makings of God. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is the key to me being able to be forgiven on all my mistakes. I have made plenty of mistakes that I have worked hard through prayer to over come and be forgiven. It also takes work on my part to right the wrong and work at it each day to not repeat the things I do wrong. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Through Prophets it has been revealed that ALL mankind must follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized. As I learned about baptism for the dead it made perfect since logically that there would have to be a way for all to have the opportunity to be baptized. I have come to know through the Holy Ghost while performing numerous baptisms for those who have passed on that it is truly part of the amazing plan of our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
