Hi I'm Corinne Marie

I am studying Chemical Engineering. I like to dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying chemical engineering and researching forest fires. My favorite author is Jane Austen, my favorite race is a 10k, and I dance to anything with good lyrics and a good beat. My newest hobby is rock climbing, and my oldest is probably photography. I love to travel and hope Italy is my next destination. I am known for my laugh, which I love to share with others. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are Mormons, and their parents are Mormons, but it is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I prayed to God at a young age and he answered all my questions. I felt his love for me, and a great peace when I went to church and obeyed his commandments. When I prayed about the Book of Mormon I knew in my heart and in my mind that is was true. I am a Mormon because it brings joy and peace to my life.

How I live my faith

My current assignment in my ward is helping others with Family History. I love this assignment because I love learning about history myself, especially when it is personal! And teaching others has been a dream come true. I believe learning more about our ancestors is important because we can learn valuable lessons and bring families closer together. One of my favorite assignments in my ward is organizing activities for young adults every Monday night, called Family Home Evening. Since I am at college, most of my peers and I are far from families and so we come together for our own Family Home Evening. We have a spiritual lesson taught by a different person each week, and then a fun activity and dessert. I love the interaction with my friends and the opportunity it provides to discuss spiritual topics. The fun it provides is a great bonus too!

What is the Relief Society?

Corinne Marie
The Relief Society is an organization of women within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is especially for women, from 18 years of age to 88 and beyond. The Relief Society provides a lot of service for church members and the community. It also helps uplift and support it's members. The Relief Society has a mission statement and the first line reads, "We are beloved spirit daughters of God, and our lives have meaning, purpose, and direction." Each ward or branch has their own Relief Society that meets every Sunday to learn about the Gospel of Christ. Sometimes a meeting during the week is held to learn new skills, or to just socialize. The Relief Society is a fantastic organization and has brought much joy into my life.  Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Corinne Marie
We need a Savior because of the fall of Adam. The fall of Adam was when Adam and Eve became mortal after eating a forbidden fruit. In becoming mortal Adam and his prosperity including us are subject to physical and spiritual death. Without a Savior our body and spirit would never reunite after death physical death. Without a Savior we could not be forgiven of sin and live with God again spiritual death. The atonement of Jesus Christ saves us from physical and spiritual death. Show more Show less
