Hi I'm Allison

About Me

I am 25 years old, a mother of 1.5 kids (expecting another in October), and wife to a sweet boy named Devin. We have been married for 3 years, only 2 months after my baptism into the LDS church. I know what you're thinking, and no, I did not convert because of my dear husband. He was the motivation for my investigation, but not the reason for my conversion. I have the Lord to thank for that one.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Baptist. I always had a firm foundation of God and that He is mindful of me and wants what's best for me. In high school, I started hanging out with the Mormon girls, because they were the only ones whose values lined up with mine. I also knew a Mormon boy, who would prove to be a huge part of my life a few years later. In college, I fell in love with that Mormon boy. We decided that we wanted to get married, but there was one huge problem: I was Baptist and he was Mormon. After breaking it off for that reason, I realized I couldn't live without him and decided to look into the Church. After many long months of pleading with the Lord to reveal to me whether or not the Book of Mormon is true, I got my answer. I got the most undeniable witness that Joseph Smith was in fact a prophet, that the stories in the Book of Mormon are true, and that this is where I was supposed to be. I always grew up praying to God and knew what the Holy Ghost felt like, but that feeling exponentially grew after my baptism into the LDS Church. 3 years later, I still get that same strong feeling whenever I speak of Christ, read the scriptures, go to church, and share my faith with others. I know that the LDS church is true. I never thought I would be a Mormon, but now that I know the joy that comes by being one I am never looking back. I am so grateful to God that he showed me this Church and that he humbled me to know of its truthfulness.

How I live my faith

I work with the young women at church, specifically girls ages 14-15. The girls are faithful and crazy. They are a joy to work with. I pray for them often and hope they make the right decisions that will safely guide them through into adulthood. My husband works with the missionaries at church. I love his involvement in this program because we get to see people become interested in the Church, and watch some of them get baptized. It's really cool.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Church members donate money toward the missionary program. Missionaries also contribute money for their own missions. Show more Show less
