Hi I'm Brian

I am a father, a student, and an outdoorsman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large family. We loved to laugh and spend time together, which was easy in our small house. I am now married, and my wife and I have a young son who makes us incredibly happy! I am studying electrical engineering, while my wife teaches English classes in our community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family, and that has had an enormous influence on my life. The simple principles I learned as a child helped me know how to make difficult choices later on. For example, my parents and church leaders taught me what kinds of movies and music could be harmful and encouraged me to avoid them. As a teenager, their counsel helped me find strength to choose positive entertainment. As helpful as these principles were, however, I wondered if what I had been taught was true. During my senior year of high school I began to really study the Bible and The Book of Mormon. I found that every morning as I read I was filled with profound peace, happiness, and confidence. I cannot describe all the feelings or experiences I had that year, but I can say that I came to know God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lives, that the witnesses in the Bible and The Book of Mormon are true, and that Christ has brought His Church again to the Earth through a simple boy whom He chose to be a prophet.

How I live my faith

The most basic way I live my faith is by trying to follow Christ everyday. I like to try to see other people the way He does; it changes how I think about them and how I treat them. I also love to share the Gospel which has changed my life so completely.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe the Bible because it contains the word of God. The words of Peter and of the other apostles, who simply spoke of what they saw and heard from the Lord (Acts 4:20) help me to know Him. As I read of Jesus' teaching and of his love, I feel that love from God for me and for others. The Old Testament teaches us so much about God's patience and anxiousness to help us obey Him so we will avoid error. The New Testament teaches us about our relationship to God and how we can love Him and know Him. I love the Bible! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe God is our Heavenly Father, that He loves each of His children, and that He wants us to be happy. He has a physical body, and He created our bodies in His image. He is merciful, kind, encouraging, patient, and full of love. He is perfect, and asks us to be obedient so that we avoid the pain, anguish, and despair that come from sin. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live. I learned this through the power of the Holy Ghost when I prayed to know if Joseph Smith really saw God and His Son. That knowledge makes me very happy!   Show more Show less
