Hi I'm Diane Westmoreland

I'm a Mormon because it gives me joy and direction in my life, and because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true

About Me

I am a Mother, wife and Grandmother. My husband and I have been married for 50 years and we have five children, two adopted and three natural births. Even though I have a tremendous legacy in the church with my Grandparents and all Great Grandparents being members, it was my responsibility to study and pray for my own testimony. When I was 18 and left home for college, I realized that I needed to start reading the Book of Mormon and praying for my own testimony. It came, and I know that Jesus is the Christ and He lives and cares for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of strong ancestors but I gained a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ by reading, pondering and praying about the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try hard to live my faith every day by serving others and by keeping the Lord's commandments. My hobby is doing Genealogy and my job in the church is to help others who are interested in doing genealogy research. I am also the Stake Relief Society Secretary.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Diane Westmoreland
Mormons are in most part, humble people just trying to keep the Lord's commandments. We believe that our Chapels are the House of the Lord and we need to dress like we would if Christ was standing at the pulpet talking with us, so we dress in our Sunday best. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Diane Westmoreland
As followers of Jesus Christ, we want to share the good news of His restored gospel to all who are willing to listen. When Christ was on the earth, He established his Gospel, then it was lost for a period, but we want to tell everyone that it has been re-established through a Prophet in these latter days and it is here on the earth today. What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Diane Westmoreland
The Mormon lifestyle is like the average American. We love our family and try to raise our children to have high moral values and to obey God's commandments. We believe that the reason we are here on earth is to have joy and to be tested on how we react to trials that come our way. Challenges in life help to to grow and become stronger so that we can return to be with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We want to live our life to the very best of our abilities.
