Hi I'm Scott Kenneth

About Me

I was born in Bedford, TX just west of Dallas and was raised in Euless. I come from a big family and that is what defines me. I love my family and love being with them. The most important thing that has happened to me was the decision I made a year and a half ago to ask my wife, Stephanie to marry me. She has made me so happy and we are now awaiting anxiously the birth of our first little girl! I am currently attending college studying Exercise Science. I love the outdoors and playing sports. My passion growing up was soccer and now I love spending time with my wife and family. I work teaching Spanish and love the hispanic culture.

Why I am a Mormon

Like everyone, I am not perfect. As a matter of fact, I have many weaknesses that remind me each day how much I need help from God and his Son, Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because in this church, The Church of Jesus Christ, I have found the answers to my questions. The plan of happiness that God has for me and all of His children is taught in its fulness in this church. I didn't always have that truth or testimony in my life. A testimony is a very precious and sacred thing but doesn't come without some effort and sacrifice. I found comfort in the words of the Savior when he invited his disciples to "Ask, and it shall be given you;seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

How I live my faith

I love serving others and find joy in helping others come closer to their Savior. I truly feel that when I am in the service of others, I am in the service of my God. Worshipping and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ is very important in my life. Through prayer I am able to get closer to God and also repent. Aside from attending church on Sundays to take the Sacrament and remember my Savior, Jesus Christ, I believe that the way I live my life day to day, at work, at the grocery store, out with my friends, etc. is the real way that I live my faith. First and foremost, the way that I treat my wife and love and respect her must be evidence of my faith and obedience to my Father in Heaven. Being an example at all times and in all places, not just at church on Sunday. I always look for opportunities to help and serve others and truly find great joy in doing so. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and want to become like him and have found that in order to do that, I must act as He would act at all times, not just in a church on Sunday.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Scott Kenneth
This question is very important to me. I am trying to become the best husband I can be and preparing to be a father. A simple confession in belief only gets me so far but as that confession leads me to action I really see the influence it has on my life and the life of my family. I have faith that Jesus Christ can forgive me when I make a mistake so when I mess up I can repent and be forgiven. That faith blesses me only when I use it. If I am rude to my wife or do something to offend her, I now can repent and be forgiven and receive the strength I need to not do it again. Faith in Jesus Christ provides me a WAY to overcome my weaknesses and mistakes. It makes me a better husband and I know it will make me a better father. It is when I fail to live the principles that I profess in my faith that I get into trouble. I am so grateful for my understanding and knowledge of Jesus Christ and the faith I have in Him. Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Scott Kenneth
Have you ever gotten to a point in life when you realized that you just couldn't do something on your own? I do all the time. Mostly at school, there will be a problem I can't solve and with help from someone who knows, I can usually figure it out. There are many who have died without the opportunity to hear the wonderful message of a Savior, Jesus Christ, who came and died for us. When I realized that Christ did something for me that I couldn't do for myself I wanted to help others. On the cross Christ took upon himself my sins and even death. There is no way I could overcome those obstacles alone. Just like that, God has allowed us to help others fulfill his plan and make Christ's sacrifice available to all. These people who have died need to be born of water and of the spirit like Christ taught in John and if they aren't here on earth it makes it difficult. We have the chance to help them live the gospel and receive the blessings of eternal life. What a great blessing and doctrine of Christ Show more Show less
