Hi I'm Drew

I was born and raised as a Baptist in upstate New York. I've lived in NY, HI, UT and now Virginia.

About Me

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I have four beautiful daughters and they are my life. We love photography, travel, collecting old things and we often fly large stunt kites for fun.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was youth we had some Mormon friends. Their example, the way they lived their lives, just something about them was different. They were committed to family and church in a way that wasn't common then or now. They shared with us how they feel about family, church, God and Jesus Christ. They shared some books from the Mormon church with us. The ideas simply rang true to my parents and I. There were many questions about life and God that we had. These questions were answered by the teachings of the Mormon church. Eventually we were encouraged to pray and ask God if what we were learning was true. He testified to us that this was the true church. That this is where we needed to be.

How I live my faith

I've recently moved to Northern Virginia with my family from Utah. It's a big change for all of us but we love it. Right now I coordinate the efforts of the full time Mormon missionaries that are assigned to our chapel. You may have seen young men or women who serve as missionaries in your area. They do so at their own expense for a period of 18 to 24 months. They are usually far from home serving the Lord as missionaries. My responsibility is to help them do the work in the area where they are assigned. We invite members and non-members of our church to invite them into their home for teaching opportunities about our church. These are some of the nicest young men and women you will ever meet. If you get a chance to meet some, take a few minutes and talk with them. I think you will be surprised by their maturity and commitment.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I think the question we should ask is if not, why not? As a child it always bothered me that we didn't have prophets like those mentioned in the Bible. Yet we as Mormon's believe that prophets just like Moses or Abraham or others talk to God and speak for God on earth today.  Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Having been raised a Baptist and then converting to the Mormon faith, many of my friends asked me this very question. We believe he is our Savior. Our King. We believe that he is the Son of God. At the core of our beliefs is a love, praise and worship of Jesus Christ.    Show more Show less
