Hi I'm Donia

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! Welcome to my little "profile." Let's just say that I am in my "thirties," (and I plan on staying there for a LONG time ;-) ) I have my B.S. in Speech-language pathology; which I worked in before I had children, and now use it on my own three little children. I love music, singing, being creative, reading (anything from sci-fi/fantasy, to biographies, to the scriptures. I love my husband, and I honestly love being a mother. If I could be ANYTHING I wanted to be, then it would be just what I already am.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but my mother's background was Prodistant, and my father's was Baptist. However, even though I was born a member of this church, I wanted and needed to gain a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon for myself. You just can't believe in something so fundamental just because someone else does. So, I have read the Book of Mormon, and I know for myself that it is true.

How I live my faith

I'm in the PTO (because I have at least one child in public school)...:-) I also, (along with another friend from church) regularly visit three other women from church once a month, just to say "hi" and see how they are doing. I am active in a mother's playgroup. And quite busy taking children to dance, friend's houses, school events, and pretty much all the things that you need to do as a parent. Oh...I also enjoy dating my husband (at least once a week.) ;-)

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a "Mormon" is just like being any other Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I pray at least once a day about something to my Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ. I read the scriptures which include the King James Version of the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. Some differences (from other faiths) might be that I do not drink any alcohol, I do not smoke, and I don't drink coffee or tea. In addition to making me healthier, by not doing these things, I feel like I can be closer to my Savior. I also know that this life has a plan, a continuation, and a purpose. And I know that families can be together forever, that this life is temporary, and that we WILL see and be with out loved ones again after we die. Show more Show less
