Hi I'm Dale Olpin

I'm a Christian and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of two wonderful children, both teenagers. I work in the Telecommunications field as an Engineer and Executive Manager. I enjoy working in my yard, spending time with my family, and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is the single most important thing in my life. I always wondered what became of the special relationships within families after we leave this mortal life. The LDS church is the only religion that explained our life on earth has a purpose and real meaning. Through the blessings of the Gospel and the restored Priesthood, I have learned that my family can be together forever and that the special relationship I have with my family can go on forever. This gives our family hope and a reason to work hard to take care of each other, to build lasting friendships, and to live in such a way that these promised blessings can be ours. There are many other reasons I am a Mormon. The Christ like values members of the church have towards others, an unpaid clergy, a church organized like the church Christ formed, living Prophets, modern revelation, etc. Still, knowing that my family can be together forever is the greatest blessing I can have in my life.

How I live my faith

I am active in my Ward and Stake (local congregations) as a Priesthood Leader. I currently serve as a counselor in our congregational Bishopric. I support our Bishop by helping members of our congregation live the gospel of Jesus Christ. In our church we have lay (or unpaid) leadership in our local congregations. In this Bishopric we plan and conduct Sunday services, oversee weekly activities, and meet with and counsel with members of our congregation It is a blessing to be able to help others live the gospel and serve Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Dale Olpin
Families are central to our Heavenly Fathers Plan of Happiness. This Plan of Happiness explains the who we are (children of God), why we are here (to learn to be like Him), and where we are going after this life (to return to out Heavenly Father). We believe that a big part of learning to be like God means having children of our own in a loving nurturing family environment. Central to our belief is this statement; “HUSBAND AND WIFE have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. “Children are an heritage of the Lord”(Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations.” The Family – A Proclamation To The World We believe that being a part of an eternal family is all part of why we are on earth. Families are meant to bring us joy and happiness. Show more Show less
