Hi I'm Mike

I'm a husband, a father, an OIF/OEF Veteran, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have three wonderful daughters. I say we are in the Army because what I do for a living effects all of us on a daily basis. Prior to the Army I was a school teacher and soccer coach. I have deployed three times in support of our nation in Iraq and Afghanistan. From May 2003 to March 2009 I was in one of those two countries for almost 39 months. Without a strong personal testimony and belief in our Savior, Jesus Christ and the power of His sacrifice for us none of this would be possible. I am grateful to be in our nation's Army and in the service of our Father in heaven as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my family and I want, what most of us want, to be with them forever. The teachings of Jesus Christ are eternal truths that the world would be better off hearing in this day and age. I am proud of who I am and what I am able to accomplish in His plan for us here on the Earth.

How I live my faith

Reading from the Bible and the Book of Mormon every day is what helps me feel calm and collected throughout the day. Sacrament, my church meetings, and my callings are all important to me as well. Serving others and doing family history work makes me feel connected to the Spirit where ever I am located.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Latter-day Saint temples differ from the Church’s meetinghouses or chapels where members meet for Sunday worship services. Temples are considered “houses of the Lord” where Christ's teachings are reaffirmed through marriage, baptism and other ordinances that unite families for eternity. In the temple, Church members learn more about the purpose of life and strengthen their commitment to serve Jesus Christ and those around them. I love going to the temple as often as possible, seeing that we have been fortunate enough to be stationed near within 1 hour of a temple at each of our duty stations makes this possible.
