Hi I'm Kari

I joined the church when I was 40 years old and live in the upper Midwest, USA.

About Me

I'm mother to three children and enjoy organic gardening, food preservation, sewing, felting, and other handcrafts. Our family is an unschooling family and our children learn at home. Before I decided to stay at home and parent full-time I earned a BS and MA and worked as the Director of a college Career Development center. I loved working with college students and helping them discover their career paths and helping them prepare to enter the workforce, but found that my family needed more of my time and energy and that as their mother I'm irreplaceable to my children.

Why I am a Mormon

Quite simply I joined the Church because the Holy Ghost touched my heart and showed me the path. I was surprised to have this happen when I was 40 and didn't immediately follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Eventually, though, I found the spiritual promptings to be too strong to ignore and I sought to learn more about the Church and the restored gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everyday ways like teaching my children to pray and communicate with their Father in Heaven. I live my faith by trying to follow Christ's examples and teachings and striving to improve myself. I live my faith by striving to forgive others as I'm forgiven.
