Hi I'm Laura

I grew up in N.C, USA. I spent most of my adult years living in Atlanta, Ga, USA. I have 9 children & 27 grandchildren.

About Me

I am a married woman living in southern Utah. I am enjoying retired life with my husband. We travel a lot and try to spend time with our large family. I love the outdoors. I enjoy meeting new people. I enjoy genealogy and sports. Church plays a major part in my life. I am getting ready to move to West Africa to serve as a missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I first learned about Mormons when i was about 13. I was impressed with everything I saw, particularly the emphasis placed on families. I wanted to have a strong family when i grew up. I was baptized at age 15. I really enjoyed learning all about the history of the Church as well as its doctrine and teachings. At age 20 I was married and my husband and I had 5 beautiful children. Raising them in the mormon church provided a strong foundation for them to be able to grow up with strong values. At age 53 my husband passed away. Even though it was a very hard trial to be given, I had the peace and joy knowing that I will see him again and we will continue as a family in the next life. I am grateful to know that God lives and that He knows me. I feel His love every day. I know that His Son, Jesus Christ is my Savior. Because of Him I will return to live with Heavenly Father some day. I cannot count the numerous ways in which God has blessed me. Everything that I am, everything that I have is a blessing from Him.

How I live my faith

I became a Mormon at age 15. I have been actively involved in this religion ever since. I have spent many years teaching teenagers at Church. I also have worked with the smaller children and in the women's organization. I enjoy my association with church members in my neighborhood. I enjoy Sunday meetings. I spent 12 months as a missionary doing family history work. I am now preparing to go to Africa to work as a misssionary for 18 months.
