Hi I'm Alyssa

I taught English in China, I'm learning Arabic, and I love to dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying Middle East Studies & Arabic in college and want to work in International Relations one day. I love the culture, history, and politics of the Middle East, and I also LOVE Asia after teaching English in China a few years ago. I pretty much want to travel everywhere and have adventures all over the world. Each culture, language, and people is SO unique and I love it all. I also enjoy sports and being active. I especially love soccer, hip-hop, and long boarding! I have 7 brothers and sisters and we all love being outside and playing hard! That is when I am the most happy - being with people I love, doing things I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught the gospel from an early age by LDS parents who encouraged me to gain a testimony of my own. The gospel of Jesus Christ is everything to me. When life gets hard, the one sure foundation I have is my testimony of the gospel. I love the Church! I love the organization and leaders. I love the scriptures. I love the happiness and joy I feel as I live with faith.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite scriptures says: "For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart?" (Mosiah 5:13) I try to live my faith by serving Jesus Christ and making Him part of my life. I try to do good and be good. I make His work and glory, my work and glory. I strive to follow His commandments, and that has brought me the greatest happiness throughout my life.
