Hi I'm Ila Larsen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in the Pacific Northwest. I have three children, 2 boys and a girl and I am a grandmother. I am currently serving as a service missionary in my area close to our temple. I love to keep myself busy sewing clothes and quilts, exercising and hiking. I like to be with my friends, especially if we are serving someone's needs. I have been a Scouter for many years and still work with boys to help them learn life skills.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 10 and then re-converted when I was 30. I had been inactive for a long time and by then was married to a non-member. As my little children grew I began to realize that I was not teaching them about the Savior as I had been taught. I knew I could not send them off to church alone so I slowly became more active over time until I was called to teach in Primary. I held various positions in Primary for 10 years. My testimony continued to grow and I want more than anything to become more like Jesus Christ. I love Him and am grateful for forgiveness that I could come back to the church and be accepted through His atonement.

How I live my faith

I try to set an example to my friends by attending church wherever in the world I might happen to be. On Sunday I spend time preparing for church and then going there to worship. I don't shop for anything on Sunday or go to entertainments. I might go for a walk after church. I read my scriptures every morning after prayers. Should I miss reading I find the day does not go very well for me. I like to visit my church friends on Sunday and even during the week, especially the other women.
