Hi I'm Lance Peterson

I'm a Mormon. I was raised by a loving mother who taught us the stories of Jesus and of God's love for us, his children.

About Me

I have worked for Honda R&D America, Inc. for over 20 years building prototypes and show cars. I am also heavily involved in Scouting, having become a Scout leader right after I served a mission for my church. I'm currently serving my community as the Citizen Corps chair and assisting community and church organizations in developing emergency response plans. I love customizing cars and motorcycles, climbing and rappelling, all outdoor activities, and artwork. I love riding motorcycles even more than customizing them. I'm heavy into computers, both Mac and PC, and love tech gadgets even though I can't justify buying many of them. I love serving others and making a difference.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man I learned from a loving single mother how much my Father in Heaven loves me. She was a singular shining example of goodness and of Christ’s Gospel (my father had died when I was 6 years old). Having been taught correct principles in my youth, I learned for myself as a young adult, that my Savoir lives and loves me and that to show my love for him and God I had to turn outwardly toward my fellowmen. As I served other, seeking to better understand charity, I found that every truth was found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I find great happiness in serving the Lord and helping others. No other path has had all the true answers I have found in this church.

How I live my faith

As I’ve grown in my understanding of the Gospel I’ve seen the need to serve others and care for those in need. I serve others in the church as a teacher, leader, and friend. I love teaching young men in both Scouting and in their priesthood duties. I love serving my county as the Citizen Corps chair teaching CERT, self-sufficiency, and self-reliance, and in promoting Neighborhood Watch and Medical Reserve Corps. I don’t think you can profess to beilieve in God and be one of his followers without following his example and serving others. I also strongly believe in the importance of the family as a foundational part of society and of God's plan of happiness. I focus on the needs of my wife and children and love them deeply.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Lance Peterson
Welfare services of the Church help provide both physical and emotional support while maintaining dignity and self-respect for people going through difficult times. Having been both a recipient and a participant in the Church's welfare program, I can tell you that it is one of the real ways you can see the Lord's Gospel in action. The Lord teaches that, "by their fruits ye shall know them." This 'fruit' shows the pure love of Christ, that is found in those who follow him. Show more Show less
