Hi I'm Jennifer.

I'm a teacher. Most importantly I'm a wife and a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and currently employed full-time as a stay-home mom, with my nearly 2-year-old daughter. I grew up in a small town in southwest Virginia, with 8 brothers and sisters. I earned my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I taught for 6 years in Utah and LOVED it!! Our family then moved back to southwest Virginia. Most recently I worked as a type of mental health counselor for school-aged children, helping children who struggled with a variety of social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, so that they could have a more positive educational experience. Recently my husband and I have moved once again, to Brazil (my husband's homeland), where I am currently learning to be a full-time mom, among many other things! I am working on becoming fluent in Portuguese, and I enjoy taking pictures and have been known to scrapbook. My husband and daughter are my life, and I spend as much time with them as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of this church because I have gained a testimony that it is true. I grew up as a member, attending with my parents every Sunday. Through the years, I have often felt my Heavenly Father's love for me while living the teachings of my church and while serving others. I have received answers to prayers and have been comforted when going through difficult trials. I have read the Book of Mormon and have a testimony of its truthfulness, as it testifies of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that He was the perfect example. I am far from perfect, but I try to pattern my life after his and follow His teachings each day. I am grateful for the peace this gospel has brought to me in my life!

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with opportunities to serve and teach young children, adolescents, and women over the past six years.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jennifer.
Our faith in Jesus Christ can increase as we exercise it, even in simple ways: by reading about His life and teachings in the scriptures, and then by living the principles he taught. Love others, serve others, and treat others with understanding, as He would if he were here. Show more Show less
