Hi I'm Josh

I love football, I'm a horrible singer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Houston Texas. Growing up, I lived in a large family and was pretty well indoctrinated in the sports of Baseball and Football..even though I'm not very good at either. But besides being a very stereotypical jock, I actually have an addiction to singing very loud and obnoxiously all the time, and it's not getting any better! I guess, I really like music as well and I am very jealous of those who are musically inclined. I am currently a college student at BYU Idaho studying psychology. I love the Lord, I love my family, and I love to make people laugh. I'm no good at it, but i love to make people laugh. I'd like to think I'm very funny, but it's actually not true at all.

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, I was born in the church. But everyday I'm faced with a choice, do I forsake everything and follow the world, or do I hold onto what I know to be true. The reason why I keep holding on day by day is because I know that obedience to the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way for anyone to be truly happy in this life, and those that know me, know that happiness is what I'm all about! After centuries of being lost from the earth, the Gospel was restored through a modern day, living Prophet of God. Along with that Gospel came the knowledge that I lived with my Heavenly Father before this life, and that I am here on this earth for a specific reason, and that I have the potential to progress to the fulness of joy that our Heavenly Father has! Also, because there is a prophet on earth, I know exactly what I need to do to be cleansed from my sins and return to live with God and my family for time and all eternity! Because there is a prophet on the earth, I know how to have true happiness. That is why I am a Mormon, because while I am obedient to the Gospel, I am blessed with TRUE and LASTING happiness, and not hollow and temporary pleasures. I know that Christ lives. That sentance right there is the very foundation of this church. I know that it is only because of Christ, and through Christ, that we can have happiness.

How I live my faith

When i was 19, i had the privelege of serving a 2 year long mission trip to North Carolina. I really do consider it a privelege that i was able to serve in a place where the people are so friendly and where they love to talk about our Savior Jesus Christ so much! It was seriously the most fun I've ever had in my life, even though I never got any mail. Now that I am home, I am just a regular ol' member in the congregation, where my only responsibility is to try my best to fit into the words of this children's hymn. "I'm trying to be like Jesus, by following in His ways. I'm trying to love as He did in all that I do and say." I live my faith by not only works alone, but I know for myself that Jesus is the Christ and I have accepted Him as my personal Savior, and that is the motivation behind all that I do. As Christians, it is all of our responsibilities to live and love as the Master does.
