Hi I'm Raelle

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother, grandma, aunt, world traveler (don't I wish), quilter, and have my own business.

Why I am a Mormon

Every time we moved, when I was little, it took us so long to find the church my family wanted to attend. My parents were looking for the same church and doctrines that they left in Hammond, Indiana. They couldn't find it. Due to all of the moves and all the different churches I was baptized many times. I was baptized Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and Baptist at least twice. When I was eleven I asked my Mom why we didn't have a prophet who could tell us what church to join. I couldn't figure out why they had prophets in the ancient times, but in these times no prophet. My Mom told me she heard that the Mormon church had a modern day prophet. I looked the church up in the World Book Encyclopedia and researched all the cross-referencing and knew then and there I wanted to become a Mormon. I continued to attend church with my family because I thought I had to move to Salt Lake City to join the Mormons. When I was in the tenth grade I did a paper comparing Methodism, Judiasm, and Mormonism . This was all done without a Book of Mormon because none was to be had at my school or city library. The missionaries finally caught up with me when I was 18 and I was baptized Easter Sunday in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I lived in Lima, Ohio, but the church there did not have a font. I had the choice of getting baptized in the Methodist church font or wait until Stake Conference in Fort Wayne and use the Mormon chapel there. I opted for the Mormon font.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. The meetings include worship service, Sunday School, and the women's organization. I have daily scripture study and prayers. I try to help the new sisters in our congregation feel welcomed. I also write articles about people from our congregation that have special events, such as BSA Eagle Court of Honor, etc.. I am politically active in my community. I have been PTA President, Area President of the Extension Service, and Assistant Poll Manager. I love my church and community and feel it an honor and privilege to serve both.
