Hi I'm Stephanie

I grew up in Tampa, FL. I'm currently a stay at home Mom and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Florida. I was raised by a single mom with one brother and one sister. My mom worked as a school teacher, so we didn't have much, but my mom always worked really hard to help us feel like we had everything. During my junior year of college I met my husband and we got married a couple years later. I worked in corporate America for 15 years, and we adopted our first child 5 months ago. I decided to retire and take on the hardest and most rewarding job on the planet full time Mom. I love to spend time with my little family, travel, run/exercise, think and cook for people. Don't tell my husband about the cooking part cause it doesn't happen very often.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this life and experiences are for a greater purpose. I know we have a Heavenly Father who loves us and cares about all the minute details of our lives. I know that because He loves us, He sent us to Earth to learn and grow. He knew that we would make mistakes as we lived in this Earth life, so He gave us a Savior who would be our example, and through His atonement would allow us to receive mercy and be forgiven. I know that my Savior died on the cross and rose on the third day and that because He overcame spiritual and physical death, we can all live again. I know that there is a prophet who lives on the earth today and that the job of the prophet today is the same as the job of the prophets of old - to teach people about Jesus Christ and to prepare us for His return. I belive that Heavenly Father has restored His priesthood to the earth and that this was done through Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel that Jesus Christ taught to the earth. This knowledge has come through study, prayer and by asking my Heavenly Father if this is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the scriptures and sharing with others what I learn. I teach our women's group once a month on Sunday. I am also responsible for our girls camp for approx 140 girls each summer. We take them to a camp site that allows them to be away from their phones, tv and music for a minute and challenge them physically, spiritually and emotionally. We try and provide experiences and opportunities for them to learn new skills, have new ideas or ask them to think about who they are and how they are living their lives. We center all of these experiences around their Heavenly Father and our Savior hoping they take advantage of these opportunities to draw closer to them both. I live my faith daily as I am kind to those around me and try and act how the Savior would act if He were on the earth.
