Hi I'm Treva

I'm a Leo. I'm a Canadian. I'm a Missionary...and...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 22 years old and serving in the Florida Tallahassee Mission for 18 months. I have been away from home for about 16 months and it has flown by! I am a proud auntie of three, one nephew and two neices who I adore dearly. They are so much fun. I am a big movie/music fan. I love listening to almost anything and everything. My family members are my very best friends and they mean everything to me. My firm belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me more happiness than anything else could in this life. It has taught me that I can be with those I love forever and it has made me the faithful person I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints my whole life. My parents are both converts to the church and have been wonderful examples to me of what true happiness is. I have always looked with love towards my family and felt love, peace, and happiness while growing up. I know that these feelings come from living and following the values and principles of the gospel. I have generally always had a happy life, but there have been times of struggles where discouragement has set in, and at these times I have not been alone. One of the greatest blessings from being raised in this church is the knowledge that we are never alone, and that Heavenly Father and our Savior, are always there to love us and help bear our burdens. I have felt this personally in my life as I have knelt down in prayer. I cannot deny the things I know to be true. My belief in this gospel is the most precious thing I have, and I hold it near and dear to my heart. I wish to continue to live a life of love, peace, and happiness and the only way to truly achieve this goal, is to live the gospel of Jesus Christ...enduring to the end.

How I live my faith

I am serving as a Missionary for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints for a period of 18 months. I have worked and saved the money I need to be here. I am choosing to serve a mission because I know that the fulness of Jesus Christ's gospel has been restored to the earth. I know we have a modern day prophet who leads and guides us, and receives direct counsel from Jesus Christ- this is His true church on the earth today. Our prophet is Thomas S. Monson, a wonderful and faithful man, called of God. I have faith that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us very much and their greatest desire is to grant us eternal life. I know that the only way we can find true peace and happiness in this life and joy in the life to come is through our Savior Jesus Christ- through following His perfect example and keeping His commandments. I have made the decision in my life to view the commandments as invitations and not restrictions. When we do this, and obey with love in our hearts, I can promise you that we are blessed beyond measure! I love the Lord, and I love His gospel, and I am SO grateful to be a member of His church.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Treva
The law of health is called the word of wisdom. It is basically a health code that was put in place to better our lives. In my personal opinion I don't view myself as being restricted from experiencing these substances, but see it as freedom from addiction. Most or all of these things are potentially addicting and really can be quite harmful to our bodies. Just as importantly, we also believe in giving our body a proper diet by eating all of the food groups; dairy, fruits and veggies, meats, and grains. Out of respect for the body that God so lovingly gave me, I want to treat it right by keeping it healthy. Show more Show less
