Hi I'm Kevin

I come from a family of 8. I love math, singing, and dancing. I just ended a full-time mission in South Florida. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born the fourth of six children in California. I later moved to Colorado, then to Arizona, then to Utah, and now I am in Florida. My father passed away from heart failure when I was six. My hobbies include reading, singing, dancing, and playing games with my family. After graduating from High School I did one semester of College before going to South Florida to be a full-time missionary. I was down there for two years, preaching the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping others feel the great peace and joy that I have found through knowing and living this wonderful Gospel. I am now just a typical college student looking for a job and striving continually to live what I believe.

Why I am a Mormon

I was intruduced to the LDS Church by my parents. They were both born into it. For my whole life, they have taught me about Christ's Church and His commandments. Even more than teaching, though, they lived the things they taught me. They showed me how to be a true follower of Jesus Christ and I saw the great blessings that they received for keeping God's commandments. My mother was a shining example of this. She raised me and my five siblings by herself from the time we were all still very young. Instead of letting this challenge be an excuse to not live the Gospel as fervently as others, she devoted herself 100% to keeping Christ's commandments and serving in His Church. Because of my mother's great example and also the example of my extended family, I was able to see and understand the importance of this Church I was born into. I applied myself to the teachings of Christ that were found within this wonderful Church and I received an abundance of blessings for my obedience. As I lived the Gospel more, I learned more, and my testimony grew. My testimony was strong enough to bring me on a mission and sustain me through the difficulties I have faced during this time. Because of the blessings I have received from living the fulness of Christ's Gospel that He has established through this Church, my testimony has grown to be strong and independant of the testimonies of my family members and friends. Now there is nothing that will ever keep me from being a member of Christ's Church. I'll be a Mormon for life.

How I live my faith

For the past two years, I lived my faith by devoting all my time and attention to preaching the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ to my Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters in South Florida. During these two years I was not working; I did not do any college; all I did was preach the Gospel. Every morning I would wake up, exercise, and get ready for the day. I would then study the Gospel for two hours and Spanish for another hour. Then I would go out to preach the Gospel and return home at 9:00 pm. After planning out the next day, I would get ready for bed, go to sleep, and then wake up the next morning and do it all again. That is all I did, and I did it every day for 24 months without hardly any variation. I loved it! I lived my faith by sharing it. And now I get to live my faith by doing all the things I taught people for those two years. I participate in all the activities in the Church. I accept and fulfill assignments to serve others. I try to allow what I know about God to affect every decision I make. I strive to live the teachings of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
