Hi I'm Nathan

I'm a musician with Celiac disease, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I Love to play the Trombone and Clarinet, as well as other musical instruments. I hope to play and teach music as profession. I also think video games and Lagos are fun. I have Celiac disease and so I cannot eat anything with gluten (any thing with wheat, barley, oats, rye, or spelt), milk, mushrooms, or sesame seeds.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are members of this church and have been before I was born, so I was raised in this religion. But everyone needs to find the truth for them self. I wanted to make sure that this church was true and the best way to know if something is true is to study it. So I did that, I read most of the bible, I read the book of mormon and I read Joseph Smith's history. In the end of the book of mormon there is a promise that if you pray to God with a sincere hart then you will receive an answer. I prayed, and I got an answer.

How I live my faith

I follow the standards that the church asks us to follow, I know that the standards help us and are not there to control us. Something our church teaches a lot is charity; I try my best to help those around me and to be a good citizen.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Nathan
We believe that it is by grace that we are saved after all that we can do. No one is perfect, that is why the atonement of Jesus Christ is so inportant. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Nathan
When going to church the men usually wear white shirts and ties with slacks or nice pants, and the women usually wear dresses or skirts. We feel it to be a privilege to wear our nicer clothing when worshiping. But if you don't have anything else to wear besides your every day clothing then don't let that stop you from coming to church. It's more inportant to be there then to have nice clothing. What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Nathan
The Holy Ghost is a spirit without a physical body. He is here to help us in this life.Sometimes there are deep questions that no one can tell us. When we pray to God the Holy Ghost can help us feel the answer. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Nathan
Faith is a vary interesting thing, in Ephesians it says “For by grace are ye saved through faith” If we are saved through faith then it must be important to know what faith is. What my Understanding and experience is, is that faith is a belief that is shown by action. An example that has helped me understand is if you use light switch, You believe that the light will come on if you flip the switch, but you don't really know until you actually flip the switch to see. In the scriptures it says“ And now I Moroni would show unto the world that a faith is things which are hoped for and not seen wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith”(Ether12:6). In other words we show our faith first and then miracles happens. In the same chapter, it says “For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith”(Ether12:12). All the miracles that have ever happened have happened by faith. In order to go to heaven we need to be cleansed of our sins. And we can do that by the miracle of the Atonement. In order to access the Atonement we need to have faith in Jesus Christ. That means not only to believe in him, but to believe him. He has commanded us to repent, so by repenting, or in other words changing our selves to be better people, we are showing faith in him. That is when the miracle of the Atonement happens. That is how we are saved by faith. Show more Show less
